Family Yacht Rental in Cancun: Planning a Private Trip with Children

A family yacht rental in Cancun should fit the ages, comfort needs and pace of your group. A private boat gives you a dedicated space, but children still need active adult supervision throughout the trip. Start by telling your concierge how many adults and children will travel, the children’s ages and any boarding or mobility needs. This makes it easier to compare suitable vessels and discuss practical details before booking.

What to compare before choosing a boat

Review shaded seating, bathroom and cabin information, boarding arrangements and the guest allowance stated in the quote. A vessel’s maximum capacity is not always the number covered by its base rate. Ask which life jackets and safety equipment are available for your children; you may bring children’s special life jackets and your own permitted snorkeling equipment. Do not assume that every boat supplies the same sizes or amenities.

Plan the route around your family

If Isla Mujeres or Playa Norte is your priority, request an itinerary that fits the marina, departure time and booked hours. Stops and swimming opportunities are subject to navigation conditions and the captain’s instructions. Four, six and eight-hour options are listed for many vessels, but the best duration depends on your family’s needs. Time on land, hotel transfers and boarding should also be included in your day’s planning.

Food, drinks and what to bring

Bring towels unless your vessel’s confirmed package includes them. Tell your concierge about food preferences and any dietary requirements before requesting catering or shopping. Many boats allow guests to bring food and drinks, while the included provision varies by boat. Extra arrangements are quoted on request. Ask about sunscreen rules: some vessels prohibit sprays, and the products permitted onboard or in the water depend on the operator’s and location’s restrictions.

Understand the price and weather terms

Compare duration, currency, included passengers, dock fees and any extras in writing. A 30% initial payment applies to the standard booking terms; transfer balances are due 48 hours before departure, or a cash balance may be paid at boarding. A cloudy or rainy day does not by itself allow a cancellation when the port remains open. If the port is officially closed and the trip cannot operate, another date or a full refund is offered under the published policy. Review the selected vessel’s conditions before payment.

Request a family charter

Send your date, group size, children’s ages, hotel area, preferred hours and any special requirements. Your concierge can compare family options such as Agavero and the private catamarans in the fleet without promising availability until checked. Request the marina’s Google Maps location and arrive 20 minutes before departure. Children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adults at all times.
